By Pilcrow House (other events)

Thursday, January 10 2019 6:00 PM 7:15 PM EDT

Pilcrow House welcomes Taylor Lorenz, staff writer at The Atlantic, where she covers internet culture. That includes the fun stuff like memes and trends. But also the serious stuff like misinformation and platform abuse.

Join us for a IRL discussion of what makes the internet great and terrible all at once.

You will enjoy this event if ANY of these apply to you:

  • You are fascinated with how teenage and youth internet trends impact the rest of pop culture.
  • You have no idea what Fortnite is but you'd like to know.
  • You wonder where the heck things like Pepe the Frog come from and how they effect our politics.
  • You want to laugh at things on the internet for a hour.

Event schedule

  • 6:00 - 6:15: Welcome

  • 6:15 - 7:00: Taylor Lorenz in conversation. There may be games. There will be memes.

  • 7:00 - 7:15: Merriment and goodbye.
